FAQs
Q: Who is this for?
Single folks from their late 20s to early 50s who spend their time (working or volunteering) trying to make the world a better place and are looking for respectful dating or a relationship. This could be a lot of things - health care, education, climate, government. This isn’t sector-specific, but more about a shared value of spending a good portion of your time working on behalf of the greater good or helping people. This is not the place for hookups or ghosts 👻
Q: What are the events like?
A: The events bring together 20-50 single people who have signed up. The events are 2 hours and will have some open time to chat with folks, and some facilitated activities. We want to give people a chance to meet as many people as possible. We’ll then have a way for you to express interest in and match with people at the event to set up a 1-1 date on your own.
Q: When will you offer events in my city?
A: We are currently only hosting events in the San Francisco Bay Area. That said, we’re happy to connect and share how we set them up if you want to run this in your city! Email us at juliaheartsthebay (at) gmail
Q: What’s expected of me?
A: Four simple asks: 1) Commit to showing up to events you RSVP for. 2) Help us spread the word! Personal referrals make up our best events. 3) No ghosting — you’re better than that. 4) Let us know afterward how the event was.
Q: Is this for straight or queer dating?
A: We hope to host a variety of events and would love a co-host for a queer event. Let us know if you’re interested!
Q: Why isn’t this free?
A: In addition to this being a time commitment, the main reason is that we’ve learned through hosting events that people are way more likely to sign up and no-show if it’s a free event. For this kind of event, no-shows make it a worse experience for everyone else, so we want to avoid that.
Q: I have another question…how do I contact you?
A: You can reach us at juliaheartsthebay (at) gmail
